  • The Surrounding Countryside at Lundy Lodges

Our luxury cabins are located in the heart of the tranquil Welsh countryside, offering a vast array of wonderful walks that you and your faithful companion can venture on right from our doorstep. In summertime, you can take in the luscious greens of the county’s fields and trees, and in autumntime you’ll be met with the stunning ruby reds and burnt oranges of leaves about to fall. We provide the perfect base for dogs to run free for miles, without a care in the world!

  • Hay Castle

Hay Castle is a truly unmissable visitor attraction in the nearby town of Hay-on-Wye, and it makes the perfect day out with your pooch. For a thousand years, this remarkable structure has been part of our landscape, with part Norman, part Jacobean, and part Victorian architecture. Canine friends are welcome to explore the immaculate grounds and they’re also allowed inside the ground floor of the castle and in the café, provided they are kept on a lead at all times.

  • Canoeing on the River Wye

If you’re looking for something out-of-the-ordinary to enjoy with your beloved pooch, we highly recommend checking out Want to Canoe? Depending on your skill level and how long you have to spare, you can hire a canoe and embark upon a wide variety of routes along the meandering River Wye. And what’s more, they welcome well-behaved dogs onboard – as long as you can guarantee they will stay in the canoe at all times!

  • Elan Valley

One of our favourite spots to visit with your dog during your stay in Wales is the Elan Valley, an epic area consisting of four main dams and man-made reservoirs, constructed in 1893! With stunning views from the dams, there are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities in the area. The dog-friendly Visitor Centre is a great place to ask for advice on which walks are best for you and your pooch, browse the exhibition area and shop, and grab a bite to eat in the café.

  • Four Falls Trail in the Brecon Beacons

A particularly picturesque place to take your dog on an adventurous walk is the Four Falls Trail in the Brecon Beacons. This easy walking trail is a four-mile loop that takes you to four different waterfalls which you can admire from afar or take your swimwear and enjoy a cooling dip in the water with your four-legged friend! It’s the perfect way to let your dog cool off during a warm day.

Located in the beautiful county of Powys, Craig-y-nos Country Park is a magnificent 40-acre country park managed by the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority. There’s a cornucopia of easy paths to follow, taking you on gentle strolls past towering beech trees and along picturesque rushing rivers. We guarantee your four-legged friend will love it here!

  • Explore the Clywedog Dam

Clywedog Dam is a man-made reservoir just outside of Llanidloes, popular with walkers, cyclists, bird watchers, and dog-walkers alike. The dam is an impressive structure standing 72 meters high and holding back 50,000 megalitres of water! There are two main trails to choose from: the Clywedog Gorge Trail and the Llyn Clywedog Scenic Trail, both of which reward explorers (and their dogs) with magnificent views!

  • Bwlch Nant yr Arian Walking Trail

Located in the Cambrian Mountains, the Bwlch Nant yr Arian Visitor Centre and walking trail is the ideal place to take your four-legged companion for a walk. There are several, well-signposted trails to choose from, varying between one and three miles long. It’s completely dog-friendly, with furry friends being allowed inside the shop and the café, although they do need to be kept on a lead indoors. As well as being ideal for dogs, it’s a great place to take your family, with activity leaflets and animal trails to get stuck into!

  • Glansevern Hall Gardens

A gorgeous spot your dog is guaranteed to love is the Glansevern Hall Gardens, romantically positioned on the banks of the River Severn. Spanning more than 25 acres of diverse landscape and exotic planting, this spectacular estate comprises a variety of garden attractions, such as a five-acre lake, cascading Water Garden, lakeside and woodland walks, formal gardens, and the secluded Bird Hide, set where the River Severn meets the River Rhiew. Barry Sidings Countryside Park is one of our favourite places to take the dog for a fantastic day out. Located in Pontypridd, Rhondda Cynon Taff, the area is awash with all sorts of trails, taking you into the epic surrounding mountains and beyond. There’s free parking, plenty of lush spots to eat a picnic, an on-site café, and endless space to enjoy leisurely strolls around the park, duck lake, mountains, and forestry. It’s undeniable doggy heaven!
